Seafood

Seafood has always had a special place in my heart—and on my plate! Growing up near the Texas coast, I have so many fond memories of crabbing with my dad and bringing home fresh seafood for a feast. Whether I’m in my home kitchen or cooking in the RV, seafood remains one of my favorite things to make. It’s fast, flavorful, and perfect for light, fresh meals on the go.

Why I Love Cooking Seafood

  • Quick & easy: Most seafood cooks in under 20 minutes, making it ideal for busy days or simple RV meals.

  • Packed with flavor: Fresh seafood doesn’t need much—just a little seasoning, and it shines.

  • Versatile: Grill it, sear it, bake it, or toss it into soups and pasta dishes.

  • Brings back memories: Every bite reminds me of childhood weekends on the Gulf Coast, crabbing and fishing with my family.

Tips for Cooking Seafood in an RV

  • Buy frozen if fresh isn’t available: Frozen seafood thaws quickly and still delivers great flavor.

  • Use simple seasonings: Lemon, garlic, butter, and Old Bay seasoning are always in my RV pantry.

  • Don’t overcook it: Seafood cooks fast—keep an eye on it to avoid dryness.

  • Cook outside when possible: If grilling is an option, it keeps strong seafood smells out of the RV.
