Easy Italian Sausage Bow Tie Pasta Recipe for Two
This scaled-down version still has all the creamy tomato goodness of the original. A little sausage goes a long way here, and the leftovers stretch perfectly into pizza night.

- ½ pound bow tie pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ pound sweet Italian sausage casings removed and crumbled
- ⅛–¼ teaspoon teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ½ medium onion diced
- 1–2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 14.5 oz can Italian diced tomatoes
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan
- 1½ tablespoons chopped fresh basil
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta to al dente according to package directions.
Drain, but don’t rinse.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage and red pepper flakes; cook until browned.
Stir in onion and garlic; sauté until softened.
Add tomatoes, cream, and salt. Simmer about 8 minutes.
Add cooked pasta and toss to coat; let it cook 3–5 minutes to thicken.
Stir in Parmesan and fresh basil. Serve immediately.
